Jane Ngige

Jane Ngige is the CEO of the Kenya Flower Council, an association for growers and exporters of flowers and ornamentals.

Her role at the Flower Council is to provide leadership for core activities such as administration and implementation of its code of practice. She is also involved in networking and publicity for the Council.

Ngige has a Master of Science in Food and Agriculture Biotechnology from Reading University as well as Postgraduate Certificates in International Food Laws, Food Processing, and Systems Approach to Quality Assurance & Marketing.  She also holds a Higher Diploma in Food Science and Technology.

She is passionate about securing competitive prices for Kenyan-grown flowers abroad. She is on the front line of championing best farming practices and lobbying for favourable government policy to attain this.

In 2012, she was appointed to serve as vice chairperson in the Commission for Higher Education (CHE).
